Ten days ago I did an extremely fun thing with the help of some amazing people I'm proud to call friends. I finished the Pinhoti 100 miler in 28 hours and 40 minutes after these people dragged me across hills, mountains, creeks, rivers, dirt roads, paved roads, I-20, and the tallest point in Alabama. I shoveled a ton of food into my mouth, other people shoved more food into my mouth.

Ran the Rebecca Mountain 50 Miler Saturday. It was a hoot! Finished feeling great in 11:10 in the top half of the pack. It was cool and misty most of the day and sunny and warm toward the evening. Chatted with some old and new friends. Mostly managed nutrition, hydration, and electrolytes really well. Got through the aid stations pretty quickly. Had a great time! The race was well-organized and all of the volunteers and other runners were awesome.

Thanks to @ultratrey for keeping me from going out too fast, Jennifer for solid advice and company in the wee hours of the morning (I wish I got a picture at the start), and @gutsrunning for putting on another amazing race! Took a little pumpkin on a big trip up Kennesaw mountain again this weekend. @gutsrunning Pumpkin Butt 50k! Really enjoyed running with @toroktoberfest and @hilarykart on the first twoish loops. Completely failed at getting any sort of record of running with friends, but I took so many pictures of my pumpkin. Actually managed to finish it this year - took 7:05 over 31.9mi and 5666ft of climbing. Thanks to Janice and Trena and Sally (who crushed it today) and everyone else at GUTS for putting in so much time and work so that the rest of us can get out and enjoy a run.

A hard time on the dragon's spine! My slowest and most challenging ultramarathon yet. @hardassevents's Baby Dragon 40 miler. It was a beautiful day. Plenty hot until the thunderstorm and accompanying downpour fixed that. Turned the trail into a river and I swear made the briars tear up my legs more, but at least it got rid of the bugs. I went a little off trail and got some extra elevation, exhausted myself on the steep climbs and running the descents, spent a little too long enjoying the aid stations, but at least I ran it in in the rain and the dark over the last few miles mostly thanks to a fellow runner encouraging me to get out of the chair.

The wind was strong enough at this point that driving was iffy and trying to get out and walk up to the point instilled fear of death, so we just took bad pictures from the car.
